Call for Proposals for South Asian Rural Organizations

The Center for Peace Canada (CPC) is pleased to announce a new grant opportunity for community-based organizations (CBOs) working on peace, human rights, and social justice in South Asia. This initiative is part of CPC’s ongoing commitment to empowering local actors who are on the front lines of positive change.

The “Grassroots Peacebuilding Fund” will provide small grants to eligible CBOs in countries across the South Asia region, including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The fund is designed to support projects that address the root causes of conflict and promote sustainable peace through community-led initiatives.

“We believe that the most effective and lasting change comes from the communities themselves,” said Dr. Amina Khan, Programs Director at the Center for Peace Canada. “This fund is an opportunity for us to partner with dedicated, grassroots organizations that are deeply rooted in their local contexts. Their work is essential for building a more peaceful and just South Asia.”

The call for proposals seeks projects in the following areas:

  • Conflict Resolution and Mediation: Initiatives that promote dialogue, mediation, and reconciliation at the community level.
  • Human Rights Advocacy: Projects focused on protecting and promoting the rights of marginalized groups, including women, children, and ethnic or religious minorities.
  • Peace Education: Programs that use education to foster a culture of peace, tolerance, and non-violence among youth and adults.
  • Socio-Economic Development for Peace: Initiatives that address economic disparities and provide opportunities that reduce drivers of conflict.

Proposal Submission Details:

  • Eligibility: The call is open to registered, non-profit community-based organizations with a proven track record of work in peacebuilding and human rights within the specified countries.
  • Application Process: Interested organizations must submit a proposal outlining their project, objectives, budget, and expected outcomes. Full guidelines and the application form are available on the CPC website.
  • Deadline for Submission: All proposals must be submitted electronically by November 20, 2025.
